The Whakatāne Aquatic and Fitness Centre heating system will be undergoing an upgrade from Monday, 21 August to Sunday, 27 August, and the public are advised that there will be some interruptions to services during this time.
The upgrade will see a larger capacity and more efficient heat pump installed and synchronised with the facility’s existing boilers. This will ensure a constant pool temperature as well as improved interior air flow, but until the work is underway and the situation has been fully assessed, staff are unable to confirm exactly what impacts may result.
This closure was initially scheduled to take place from Monday, 7 to Saturday, 12 August, and all Learn to Swim classes during that period were cancelled as a result; now that the closure has been rescheduled, the Centre will be running complimentary Learn to Swim lessons for the week from 7 to 12 August for all students who are currently enrolled in this term’s classes.
For further information on Learn to Swim lessons, contact the Centre on 07 308 4192.
