Water shutdown - West End Road, Ōhope

Whakatāne District Council advises a planned water shutdown will be happening in the West End Road neighbourhood soon. This shutdown is required to carry out essential maintenance work to repair a section of watermain.

•    Affected Properties: All properties on West End Road, Ōhope
•    Date: Friday, 12 January
•    Time: 9:30am to 12pm

If you or a member of your household depends on water for critical medical support that requires a continuation of water supply – please ensure you make alternative arrangements for the time stated above. For those with less urgent needs, this could include filling buckets or your bathtub with water for your use and have a potable water container filled with water for drinking.
After restoring the supply, water may have a cloudy appearance due to entrapped air. While it’s still safe to drink, we recommend you run your outside tap for at least two-three minutes to dislodge any sediment and remove entrapped air in your lines prior to opening any inside taps.

We understand that water shutdowns can be inconvenient, and we thank you for your cooperation and apologise for any inconvenience.

Should you have any questions or concerns about this upcoming work or its impact on your water supply, please call our Customer Services team at 306 0665.
