Pool closure notice

Two public swimming pools are owned and operated by the Whakatāne District Council: the Murupara Community Swimming Pool, and the Whakatāne District Aquatic and Fitness Centre.

Whakatāne Aquatic and Fitness Centre

The Whakatāne Aquatic and Fitness Centre includes two spa pools, a hydroslide, a 25 metre indoor pool, a 33 metre enclosed outdoor pool (open year-round), gymnasium, a learners' pool and a 'beach' pool.

Murupara Aquatic Centre

The pool opens in October and closes at the end of April. During term time the pool is used daily by local schools and the college for swimming lessons, water safety, school carnivals and play. For more information, contact the Council's Murupara Service Centre on 07 366 5896.
