The northern section of Hinemoa Street in Whakatāne will be closed to road traffic on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 April, to allow bridge abutment repairs to be carried out.
This work will require the closure of the section of road between the Victoria Avenue/Hinemoa Street intersection and the Landing Road roundabout. A detour will be in place throughout the closure, but access will remain available to all properties on the section of road affected. Pedestrian and cycle access will not be affected.
The two-day closure is required to investigate and remedy recurring undulation issues on the bridge abutment, and has been timed for the school holidays, when traffic flows are lighter.
