The District Reserve Management Plan provides the Council with a clear framework for the day to day management and decision making for all the Council owned reserves and open spaces within the District.
The Council currently has a large suite of reserve and open space land in its ownership and/or administration. One of the responsibilities of the Council is to manage these reserves efficiently, both now and in the future. The intention of this District Reserve Management Plan is to provide objectives and policies which apply to all reserves throughout the Whakatāne District, including those not vested or classified under the Reserves Act. This will ensure consistency, transparency, and enable greater community awareness of Council's intentions for all reserves through the District.
