The National Policy Statement on Urban Development (NPS-UD) - which came into force on 20 August 2020 - requires local authorities (councils) to monitor development (based on certain indicators) to ensure there is sufficient housing and business land available to meet demand. The purpose of monitoring under the NPS-UD allows Council to make planning decisions based on robust and up-to-date information about the District's development indicators.
Here you'll find our commitment to the NPS-UD and our annual and quarterly indicator reports.
