Two public swimming pools are owned and operated by the Whakatāne District Council: the Murupara Community Swimming Pool, and the Whakatāne District Aquatic and Fitness Centre.

Learner pool, toddler pool, and hydroslide currently closed
Due to a fault, the learner pool, toddler pool, and hydroslide are currently closed.
Learn to Swim classes scheduled in the learner pool until Wednesday 21 August are cancelled. Catch up classes will be available.
The 25m pool and outdoor pool remain open. Learn to Swim classes usually held in the 25m pool will continue.
