Whakatāne District Council (Council) advises as from 8am tomorrow (Monday, 6th February), a section of Manawahe Road will be reduced to one lane, as contractors work to lower water levels on neighbouring property.
The temporary lane closure is likely to be in place for one week, with traffic management in place during this time. The public are asked to drive with caution through the area as water pumps will be situated on the closed lane.
Council has already pumped more than 170million litres of water from this area and continues to work with property owners, neighbours, FENZ and insurers on immediate and long-term solutions.
Council thanks everyone for their continued efforts and co-operation.
