Whakatāne District Council is currently reviewing the targets and actions in the draft Climate Change Strategy, and wants to hear from the community about ideas to address climate change for both the Council and the Whakatāne District.
The Whakatāne-Ōhope Community Board will be at The Gap, Wharaurangi, on The Strand this Saturday 29 August from 10am to noon, to gather feedback on the draft strategy and action plans.
"We look forward to meeting residents, and hearing their views and ideas," explains Chairperson Moira Hanna. "There will also be plant giveaways and the chance to win a $100 cycle shop voucher."
Physical distancing and safe hygiene practices will be in place, aligned with Level 2 guidelines.
