Parking restrictions amended

Whakatāne District Council at its meeting on 19 April 2017 amended the parking restrictions in the District. The full amended Parking Register is below, followed by the changes introduced.

Amendments

  • The inclusion of new Passenger Service Vehicle / Bus Stops on Arawa Road, Pohutukawa Avenue and James Street to the Parking Register.
  • The inclusion of converting two P10 restricted car parks to a loading zone on Boon Street
  • The inclusion of converting two P60 restricted car parks to a loading zone on Commerce Street
  • The inclusion of two new disabled car parks on West End Road
  • The inclusion of converting twelve P120 restricted car parks to unrestricted car parks at the western end of Stewart Street
  • The inclusion of converting fifteen P120 restricted car parks to unrestricted car parks at the western end of Pyne Street
  • The inclusion of converting ten unrestricted car parks to P120 restricted carparks in front of the Police Station on Pyne Street
  • The inclusion into Council’s Parking Register all parking prohibitions, restrictions and loading zones and disabled car parks at the main Commercial Wharf and Whakatāne Boat Ramp Carpark
  • The inclusion of changing parking prohibition on McAlister Street by Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiarangi entrance to two unrestricted car parks.
  • The inclusion of converting the existing parking signage within the Kopeopeo CBD into a Parking Zoning environment.
  • The inclusion of P120 restricted car park restriction on the proposed angle and existing parallel car parks on the eastern end of Simpkins Street.
  • The inclusion of converting thirty nine ‘Pay and Display’ car parks to twenty five P120 restricted car parks and fourteen for ‘Parking with Permits’ car parks at Shapley Place.
