When you drive along Galatea road, park on the Strand, stroll down the Warren Cole walkway, visit Te Kōputu library and exhibition centre, use a boat ramp, playground or park, have your rubbish collected, turn on a tap or flush your toilet, you are probably using Council services. And that’s just a snapshot of what your rates are contributing to.

Whakatane District Council would like to remind you that rates are due on 24 May 2013.

Take advantage of our discounts for paying your rates early. The Council sets a discount on an annual basis for ratepayers who pay the total rates levied on the rates assessment by the due date for the first instalment in August. The discount rate for 2012/13 is 2.5%.

We would like to suggest that you can pay by Direct Debit, for ease of mind. This can be paid Annual, Payment on due date, Monthly or Fortnightly.
