Stopping (Closing) Part of Service Lane as Legal Road

Notice is hereby given that the Whakatane District Council proposes to stop (close) part of the service lane (road) adjacent to The Warehouse and public car park off Kakahoroa Drive being between the properties known as 1 and 31 Kakahoroa Drive and shown as Section 3 on the survey plan SO 462740 and being 1192 m2 in area.

When stopped it is intended to amalgamate Section 3 with adjoining land and create a new ‘Harbour’ leasehold property extending from Lot 3 DPS 70388 to the west, across Section 3 and to include part of Section 1 to facilitate the extension of The Warehouse premises.

The service lane providing access to the rear of the The Strand and Esplanade Mall shops and businesses will remain. Legal and public access to this service lane from Kakahoroa Drive will be retained by the gazetting of Section 2 shown on the survey plan SO 462740 as service lane.

A copy of the survey plan and information pack is available for inspection from the Customer Services Counter at the Whakatane District Council Civic Centre, 14 Commerce Street Whakatane.

Any person wishing to make a submission on the proposed road stopping is required to do so in writing before 4:00 pm on Friday the 7th day of June 2013.
