Street decals encourage LTP feedback

Cashy Ball and Wouter Vullings of the Whakatāne District Council Policy Team with one of the new decals. Pedestrians in the Whakatāne CBD and Kopeopeo will have noticed some colourful additions to the town’s footpaths. The Whakatāne District Council’s 2015-25 Long Term Plan (LTP) is out for public consultation, and to mark the occasion, several decals have been applied to busy sections of the town inviting community members to have their say on key aspects of the LTP.

An LTP consultation document, ‘The Big Decisions’, has been printed and distributed to households throughout the District. Whakatāne residents will also have a chance to find out more about the LTP at an information stall to be run from 10am-1pm on Saturday 21 March at Te Koputu - the Whakatāne Library and Exhibition Centre. Other community meetings are advertised on the Council website.

The LTP and all of the supporting documents are available on the Council website, with copies also available for viewing at Council offices and District libraries. The submission period runs until 13 April 2015, with hearings and deliberations scheduled to be held between 7 and 22 May. The LTP and associated documents will then be finalised and adopted on 25 June.
