Online booking will be available for all Whakatāne District Council community halls from 1 May 2022. 

Council’s public online booking service will extend to all community halls managed by the Council. At present Whakatāne War Memorial Hall has been the only community venue available for online bookings.

Those venues included in the expanded online booking service are: the Community Recreational Centre; Ōhope Hall; Edgecumbe War Memorial Hall and Te Teko War Memorial Hall. 

“Expanding our online booking service gives our communities the convenience and ease to book any of our halls through the online portal – this is a fantastic expansion to our service,” says General Manager Community Experience, Georgina Fletcher.

In addition to booking a venue, the online portal enables people to view a venue’s availability and to edit existing bookings.

To book a venue, go to the Halls for Hire section on the Council website www.whakatane.govt.nz/services/halls-hire and select a facility. 

Those with no computer or internet access can simply ask Council’s bookings administrator to book a venue on their behalf.
