A further submission may only express support or opposition to a matter raised in an original submission. It must not raise new points of submission. Further submissions must be in the prescribed format of Form 6 of the RMA. Copies of the form are available from the Council offices and libraries, and Council's website.

Further submissions can be made using one of the following options:

  • Post: Policy Planner Whakatāne District Council Private Bag 1002 Whakatāne 3158

A copy of the further submission must be sent to the original submitter within five working days of lodging the further submission with Whakatāne District Council.

After the further submission period ends the planner will review and analyse all submissions and further submissions. Council will then hold a hearing for the Proposed Plan Change to consider submissions that have been lodged and issue decisions on the matters raised. Anyone who made a submission and indicated that they wish to be heard will have the right to attend the hearing and present their submission. On receiving notice of a decision on their submission, any person who disagrees with, or is dissatisfied with, the decision made, may appeal the decision to the Environment Court for further consideration.
