Increased electronic access to Library resources

Te Kōputu a te whanga a Toi – the Whakatāne Library and Exhibition Centre – is pleased to announce that it is now possible to access the Fundview and Breakout databases from outside the Library. Both databases, which are provided through the Funding Information Service, allow the public to do online searches for sources of funding, ranging from individual scholarships to help with transport costs for community groups.

Fundview contains information on over 1200 grants that can assist with administration costs, building redevelopment, salaries, volunteer expenses, equipment, furniture and the like.

Breakout has scholarships for school, polytechnic or travel grants, sports and arts schemes, personal grants, personal development funds, and academic and non-academic funding.

Both sites can be accessed by going to the Te Kōputu Library Catalogue page, clicking on Library Resources, and then clicking on the Fundview database most relevant to your needs. Type in your library barcode (found on the back of your library card), fill in the details of what you need funding for, and both databases will list the best funding matches for your situation.

The Te Kōputu site also offers fun and interactive online storybooks for kids, academic databases containing informative and reliable information on everything from science topics to biographies, as well as a database that will even help you choose your next book.
