Working together pays off for Bay of Plenty councils

Bay of Plenty councils are seeing real benefits of working together and with community leaders, government agencies and investors.

The nine councils in the region and surrounding areas have gathered together 27 stories demonstrating the value of collaboration to achieve more for less.

Project coordinator and Taupō District Council CEO Rob Williams said that the 113-page booklet describes the communities of the region and outlines the various ways that the councils work together to achieve their collective vision for better business in the Bay of Plenty.

“While each of our communities has its own identity and challenges, we’ve shown that we build greater community resilience and encourage better business when we harness those individual strengths and work together,” Mr Williams said.

The stories are grouped into four categories of infrastructure management, community outcomes, customer service delivery and regulation.
