Ash interment (burial) is an option available for families who have opted for cremation. We have a number of different locations and options available for ash interment. At Hillcrest Cemetery, we also have a special garden set aside for the scattering of ashes.
Garden and Lawn Ashes Plots
Plots can hold up to two sets of ashes. Flat plaques made of granite and measuring 250mm x 150mm can be placed on the surrounding concrete berm.
Memorial Ashes Plots
Plots can hold up to two sets of ashes. Small upright headstones can be placed on the surround concrete berm. Headstones must be made of granite and measure no larger than 400mm x 400mm.
Scattering ashes
At Hillcrest Cemetery we have a scattering area called the Garden of Remembrance. Ash scattering is not allowed in any of our cemetery gardens or public parks. Ashes can affect the health of plants within our gardens and thought should be given to the gardeners who care for our plants too.
We recommend a discussion with our team or your funeral director about ash interment options.
