Impacted Properties: All properties in Ada Vale, Bridger Glade, Mokorua Grove, White Horse Drive, Melville Drive, Orchid Rise, Tristam Way, Mokorua Parade, Apartments at 2E Appenzell Drive and #13 and #15 Gorge Road.

Some elevated properties in Appleby Rise, Appenzell Drive (other than what's mentioned above), The Green, and The Fairway may experience low pressure but will continue to have water during this time.

Council wishes to advise residents around Mokorua know that your water supply will be interrupted this Thursday (7 November) for essential maintenance work. This is to enable connection works to be carried out as part of the water mains and connections renewal and upgrade project.

Once water is back on, mains flushing will be carried out to remove any entrapped air or sediment in the line. 

As a precaution, we recommend you run your outside tap closest to the road for at least two to three minutes to dislodge any sediment and remove entrapped air in your lines prior to opening any inside taps.

If the water appears milky continue to flush lines until this runs clear. This is nothing to worry about and the water is still perfectly safe; it simply happens because pockets of air get trapped in the pipeline.

Important: If you depend on water for critical medical support that requires a continuation of water supply – please ensure you make alternative arrangements for the times stated above.

If you can, we also recommend filling a couple of buckets or your bathtub with water for your use and have a potable water container filled with water for drinking.
