The winner of Whakatāne District Council’s early bird dog registration draw was Jessica Mules from Coastlands with her dog Chip.

The competition is run every year during the Council’s discounted dog registration period, and this year it was open to anyone who registered a dog for the new registration year before 1 August 2014.

First prize for this year’s draw was a $750 kennel and run, with several runner-up prizes of dog food also available.
