Following consultation with the contractor employed to carry out upgrading work to the Whakatāne Aquatic Centre’s heat pump and building management system, Centre management has reluctantly decided that for safety reasons, the facility will close to the public from Monday, 21 August through till Sunday, 27 August.

The Aquatic Centre will reopen for business as usual on Monday, 28 August. Please note that Fitness Centre facilities will not be affected by the closure.

Learn to Swim students affected by the closure will have an adjustment made to their Term 4 payment.

Staff and management regret the inconvenience of the closure and are looking forward to the long-term benefits this upgrade will bring.
