Child-focused exhibition for Te Kōputu

An exhibition with children in mind will open on Saturday in the Sheaff and Whakatāne Community Board Galleries at Te Kōputu a te Whanga a Toi – Whakatāne Library and Exhibition Centre.

‘Making Sense’ features works from local and national artists that offer an opportunity to explore some of the body’s common senses and related themes - portraiture and identity, the physical construction of the body, and thinking and perception.

Artists include Ben Pearce, James Ormsby, Sam Mitchell, Gavin Hurley, Gregor Kregar, Steve Carr, Jim Speers, Sara Hughes, Lipika Sen and Prabhjyot Majithia, Rita Hague, Steve Carr, Robert McLeod, Nicola Bourke, Liyen Chong, Mandy Hague, Rueben Paterson, Peter Gibson-Smith, Andrea du Chatenier, Peter Radley and Glen Hayward.

The exhibition will run from 30 May until 26 July and is expected to be a popular feature of the school holidays (3-20 July).
