The Hillcrest Crematorium in Whakatāne will be closed for maintenance for up to two weeks, starting from 28 February.
The closure will allow maintenance and upgrading of the cremator to be undertaken, with beneficial outcomes for the facility’s future operations.
Cremation services at other regional facilities can still be arranged by local funeral directors during the shutdown period.
The Whakatāne District Council regrets any inconvenience the closure may cause for bereaved families.
