Diverse stories to be shared at PechaKucha this weekend

Te Kōputu is hosting a PechaKucha event to mark the closing weekend of the M/other exhibition.

PechaKucha is a quick-fire storytelling format that loosely translates to 'chit-chat' in Japanese. Each presenter will show 20 slides for 20 seconds each, giving a six-minute, 40-second insight into a topic of their choice.

Te Kōputu is thrilled to have a line-up of four women from around the district participating. They will discuss diverse topics ranging from adoption, anxiety, tākiwatanga (neuro-diversity), travel and teens. This event aims to bring together mothers from around the Whakatāne district to share, connect and find solidarity.

M/other curator Sarah Hudson says she’s grateful to these women for agreeing to share a slice of their lives.

"So many honest, raw and personal conversations have come from the M/other exhibition. This PechaKucha event is the perfect way to celebrate the closing weekend."

This is a free, family-friendly event. Please join us to celebrate the end of the M/other exhibition.

The M/other PechaKucha event is on Saturday, 3 August from 10.30am - 12pm at Brookfields Lawyers Gallery, Te Kōputu a te Whanga a Toi - Whakatāne Library and Exhibition Centre.
