Enrol to vote in the Citizens Initiated Referendum

This year, between 22 November and 13 December, you'll get the chance to vote in the Citizens Initiated Referendum. But to have your say, you'll need to be enrolled by Thursday, 21 November.

The Citizens Initiated Referendum asks, "Do you support the Government selling up to 49 percent of Meridian Energy, Mighty River Power, Genesis Power, Solid Energy and Air New Zealand?"

This referendum is a postal vote, so your details need to be correct to receive your voting papers in the mail. You can also help make sure your family and people in your workplace are enrolled in time, and that their details are up to date.

There are a variety of reasons why people may not be enrolled - maybe they recently turned 18, or they moved house, or it just slipped their mind.

Whatever the reason, you can help make sure all New Zealanders are correctly enrolled to vote.
