Traffic flows on Gorge Road in Whakatāne will be disrupted tomorrow (Thursday, 27 February) while the road surface is resealed. The work will entail the closure of the uphill lanes and diversion of all uphill traffic via Hillcrest Road. It is expected that the resealing will be completed within one day.
Similar work will be carried out on the Ōhope Hill on 6 March 2014, though the road will remain open to traffic.
Road users are asked to drive to conditions and follow all instructions given by the roading crew.
The Whakatāne District Council apologises for the temporary inconvenience involved.
