The Whakatāne District Council has signed a conditional contract for the sale of its property at 77 Bunyan Road. The agreement involves a family company with over 30 years of experience in land development throughout the North Island.
Mayor Tony Bonne says this coastal development will openup a range of lifestyle options for older Whakatāne residents,as well creating an attractive living environment for future generations.
“The release of this area for development will go a long way towards addressing the shortage of housing land available locally,” says Mayor Tony Bonne. “We’ve ensured that retirement lifestyle options will be a part of this development, so that long-standing Whakatāne residents don’t need to move away from the town they love in their later years.”
The Whakatāne District Council is working closely with the developers to ensure this project progresses swiftly, once the sale becomes unconditional at the end of July. Further details of the development will be made public at that time.
