Nominations closed at noon today for the Whakatāne District Council Tāneatua Community Board by-election, following insufficient nominations at the recent triennial elections held on 8 October 2016. A by-election is being held for the Tāneatua Community Board (one vacancy) on 17 February 2017.
Those nominated are:
- MCLEAN, Hohepa
- MEIHANA-TAIT, Korotau
A postal ballot for Tāneatua Community Board electors will commence on Thursday 26 January 2017 with the delivery of voting documents.
Voting documents can be returned by post or hand delivered to the Whakatāne District Council’s Administration Offices (Civic Centre, Commerce Street, Whakatāne) between Thursday 26 January 2017 and Thursday 16 February 2017 during normal office hours, and on Friday 17 February 2017 until noon.
A person can apply to enrol as either a residential or ratepayer elector up to and including Thursday 16 February 2017 – the day before the close of voting.
