Some Thornton residents experiencing low water pressure

A pipeline break under the Rangitaiki River is resulting in lower than usual water pressure for some nearby households.

The break has forced the Council to divert water away from the broken pipeline to avoid river water entering the system. The result is that some households in the Thornton area may be experiencing a drop in water pressure.

Council's water supply team is working to fix the problem as soon as possible. This may mean having to thrust a new pipe under the river and therefore is likely to take several days at least to complete. Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by the pressure drop.
