MetService has issued a special weather advisory for most of New Zealand for later this week. A significant cold outbreak is expected to reach our area from late Thursday through early Friday.
"Strong south to southwest winds spread over the North Island during Thursday
and Friday," Metservice says, "with gusty conditions also about the Bay of Plenty."
Cold rain is expected on eastern parts of the North Island, with snow expected in the central plateau of the North Island.
While the Bay of Plenty won't receive any snowfall, very heavy snow is expected in many areas of the South Island. More information is available at MetService.
