Planned water shutdowns for Otumahi (Paul Road)

Update 26 April 2017

Due to unforeseen onsite issues, the shutdowns scheduled below have been rescheduled to a date yet to be determined.

Update 21 April 2017

Rangitāiki Plains Scheme water consumers on the eastern side of the Rangitāiki River are advised that scheduled shutdowns related to the works described below will take place Thursday, 27 April and Friday, 28 April between 8:30 am and 12:30 pm.

Update 20 April 2017

Rangitāiki Plains Scheme water consumers on the eastern side of the Rangitāiki River are advised that the rescheduled shutdown will now occur on Thursday, 20 April and Friday, 21 April, between 8:30am and 12:30pm. The shutdown is to allow for the Otumahi (Paul Road) Water Supply project to progress. All properties supplied by the Rangitāiki Plains Water Supply east of the Rangitāiki River will be affected by low pressure — or potentially no supply — during the shutdown period, which has been timed to cause a minimum of disruption to users.

Update 14 March 2017

Rangitāiki Plains Scheme water consumers on the eastern side of the Rangitāiki River are advised that a planned water shutdown between 10 am and 2 pm on Thursday, 16 March has now been postponed. Consumers will be advised of a new date and time for the rescheduled shutdown.

Progress on the Otumahi (Paul Road) Water Supply project means a series of planned water shutdowns are required to bring the project to completion.

The first shutdown is to be held on Thursday, 16 March between 10 am and 2 pm to allow newly-laid pipeline to be cut in and connected to the Putiki Pump Station. All properties supplied by the Rangitāiki Plains Water Supply east of the Rangitāiki River will be affected by low pressure — or potentially no supply — during the shutdown period, which has been timed to cause a minimum of disruption to users.

The Paul Road Water Supply project will see Edgecumbe and Te Teko isolated from the existing Braemar/Johnson Road supply, and these areas will be supplied by Otumahi (Paul Road) and the Tahuna Road bore. It is expected the project will be completed by 30 June 2017, and the public will be notified of any future shutdowns that may be required.
