All Whakatāne District Council facilities will close at 4 pm on Friday, 12 May, to allow staff to attend a function to acknowledge the significant effort devoted to the emergency response to cyclones ‘Debbie’ and ‘Cook’ last month.
The ongoing work related to the District-wide emergency recovery process will also be recognised.
Affected by the closure:
- Council offices
- Te Kōputu a te whanga a Toi — the Whakatāne Library and Exhibition Centre
- Whakatāne Visitor Centre
Not affected (will operate normal hours):
- Whakatāne Aquatic Centre
