The Whakatāne District Council has approved a change in the fees charged under its Development Contributions Policy for development at Shaw Road/Huna Road.
After deliberating on two submissions on the proposed fees at its meeting on 3 August, the Council adopted a recommendation to increase the water connection fee at the Shaw Road/Huna Road subdivision from $1,470 to $1,984 per lot (excluding GST), while the fee for wastewater connections will remain $4,140.50 for all lots, with an additional fee of $3,773 (excluding GST) applying for properties zoned as Residential.
The new fee structure took effect on 3 August 2017.
