Edgecumbe Library users and Te Tari Awhina customers are advised that access to the facility will only be available via the park-side entrance into the Lions' Reading Room for the next two weeks.

Whakatāne District Council Lifelong Learning Manager Tangimeriana Rua says the main entrance to the Library will be closed from 1 to 12 April, to allow the canopy to be replaced.

"As this will be a construction worksite, it's important that our customers are kept safe, so the front of the building will have restricted access during the work period," she says. "Library staff apologise for any inconvenience and we look forward to providing our normal warm welcome for customers while these building improvement works are carried out."
