From next Monday (subs 13 December) vaccine passes will be required for entry to most Council facilities.

Areas excluded from the vaccine pass requirement are parks, reserves, playgrounds, cemeteries, the Murupara swimming pool, the Whakatāne and Murupara Refuse Transfer Stations and public toilets that are not inside a Council facility.

The Council decision to mandate vaccine passes at most Council facilities will be reviewed in response to any Government direction and as the district’s vaccination rates change. At ‘'red' action is needed to protect our staff, vulnerable communities and our health system from COVID-19.
