Win an iPad in road safety competition

An iPad is up for grabs in an Eastern Bay of Plenty Road Safety competition launched this week.

The Share the Road competition, being run via Facebook over the next month, invites people to make the road a safer place in six seconds by creating a short video showcasing what road safety in the Eastern Bay means to them.

The six-second videos can be created through the Vine mobile app.

Videos will be posted on the Eastern Bay Road Safety Facebook page. The clip with the most likes by October 30 will win the iPad.

“The Share the Road competition is a fresh approach to promoting road safety messages,” road safety communications advisor Justine McLeary says.

“It aims to engage young drivers and raise awareness of road safety, leading to more responsible road use and a reduced risk of serious and fatal crashes on Eastern Bay roads involving this group.”

Video entries must be sent to sharetheroad@whakatane.govt.nz. For further information about the Share the Road competition and entry criteria, visit the Eastern Bay Road Safety page.
